Kinonje Abinoonjiiag Niigan Inc.’s objective is to provide child protection and family services to the Kinonjeoshtegon First Nation membership on and off-reserve. Kinonje Abinoonjiiag Niigan Inc. seeks three (3) board members for the agency – 2 regular and 1 elder. The Board of Directors consists of five (5) representatives of Kinonjeoshtegon First Nation.The Board supports the work of Kinonje Abinoonjiiag Niigan Inc. by providing oversight, leadership and strategic advice. The Board is accountable for overseeing the governance of the Agency and its members. The day-to-day operations are led by the Kinonje Abinoonjiiag Niigan Inc.’s Executive Director.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
• Committed to the objectives of the Agency.
• Ability to actively participate in board deliberations.
• Exhibit a demonstrated commitment to leading a lifestyle consistent with the mandate of the Agency.
• Willing to abide by the conflict-of-interest policy and guidelines of the Agency.
• Be a registered member of Kinonjeoshtegon First Nation whether or not they ordinarily reside on the Kinonjeoshtegon First Nation provided they reside within the province of Manitoba.
• Not be member of a board or an employee of any Child and Family Services Agency governed by the Southern First Nations Network of Care.
• Not be in an elected position in a Metis, municipal, provincial or federal government.
• Not a foster parent licensed by Kinonje Abinoonjiiag Niigan Inc. or providing care for children in the care of Kinonje Abinoonjiiag Niigan Inc.
• Not the subject of an active protection case with any child and family services agency.
• Not be a former employee of the Agency whose employment was terminated, unless six (6) full years has expired since the date of termination.
• Provide a clear criminal record check, child and adult abuse registry check, and a prior contact check.
• Clear of any criminal conviction for summary conviction offenses for at least six (6) years prior to being a member of the Board of Directors.
• Are not and have never been charged with any indictable offence under the Criminal Code of Canada.
